Clarks Beach Golf Club voted in the top ten Country courses in New Zealand-by Metro Magazine.

Open Tournaments on holiday weekends are well famed for the half way stops that have fresh flounder fillets on the menu, locally caught and enjoyed by all.

Counties-Manukau ‘Steelers’ Rugby Football Union
http://www.steelers.co.nz/
Formed in 1955, the Counties Manukau provincial union has forged a proud tradition of winning teams and extraordinary athletes. From 1950s All Black legends such as Pat walsh and Kevin Skinner through to modern day stars such as Tony Marsh, Joeli Vidiri and Jonah Lomu, Counties Manukau has produced the players that rugby fans want to read about, watch and emulate. Whilst recent times have seen Counties Manukau operating and competing within the NPC Second Division, the elevation of the Union to the top tier of domestic rugby has necessitated rapid and significant change. The new Board and management of the Union have ensured that these steps have been, and are being, taken. The signs are good that Counties Manukau are capitalising on the inherent strengths provided by the region's diversity, the growth boom being experienced, and the introduction of a strong, stable and determined leadership team. Combined these ingredients will see Counties Manukau return to the forefront of provincial rugby and continue to create a legacy of producing winning teams and extraordinary athletes.

Pukekohe Park Raceway
http://www.countiesracing.co.nz/
Although Pukekohe Park Raceway is better known internationally as a motor racing circuit, it is primarily a horse racing circuit in New Zealand. It is located 40 kilometres (24.9 mi) south of Auckland City in the North Island. The track is now owned by Pukekohe Park Limited.

It was opened in 1963 as a permanent track, replacing Ardmore (an aerodrome) as the host circuit of the NZ Grand Prix. Annually for several years, the mainly European based Grand Prix drivers such as Stirling Moss, Graham Hill, Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart, would head 'down under' for a relaxed 'Tasman' series during the European winter.

The circuit is currently 2.82 kilometres (1.8 mi) long, having been shortened from its original combined 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) length when combined with the now defunct club circuit. It is seen as one of the fastest of all southern hemisphere circuits with the lap record at around 55 seconds and a very long back straight leading into a 50 km/h (31 mph) hairpin.

It held an annual round of the popular Australian V8 Supercar race from 2001 to 2007. The NZ round moved to a new street circuit in Hamilton, New Zealand in 2008.

In the centre of the circuit there is a horse racing course, which dictates the use of the site as it owned by the Counties Racing Club Inc, who have not invested a large amount of money in the motor racing track over the years and many would say that this is leading to its slow demise, even though the club holds very few horse race meetings each year, but it is used as a stables and training facility.

The car racing track is rated FIA grade 3 and National Grade 1.

V8 Supercars
http://www.v8supercar.co.nz/
Hamilton Street Circuit is a temporary street circuit in Hamilton, New Zealand as part of the V8 Supercars championship. The circuit is run in a clockwise direction around the Frankton business district with the pit lane and main straight located on Mill Street. The 2008 event from 18th to 20th April was known as the Hamilton 400.

V8 Supercars is a touring car racing category operated under the regulations of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It is the most popular motorsport in Australia, has a considerable following in New Zealand, and is steadily growing in popularity across the world where television coverage allows.

V8 Supercar events are held in all states of Australia as well as rounds in New Zealand and Bahrain. V8 Supercars have drawn crowds of over 250,000 spectators. The 2007 season was held over 14 race weekends on various purpose-built racetracks and street circuits in the aforementioned countries. Race formats range from sprint races, where three 120 km races are held over a weekend, or endurance races such as Bathurst which is run over a 1000 km race distance, and Phillip Island which is run over 500 km.

The V8 Supercars themselves are loosely based on either the Ford Falcon or Holden Commodore. Although they bear some resemblance to the production models outwardly, they are highly modified to suit the motorsport application. They are strictly governed in all aspects of performance in an effort to keep all the drivers on an even footing to create closer, more exciting racing. Because of this, entire fields of 29 drivers are separated by just one second over qualifying laps at some events.

Historically, the Falcon and Commodore are the two most popular passenger cars on the Australian market. Rivalry between the two makes is a major aspect of the sport's appeal.
