Karaka Point Vineyard
http://www.karakapointvineyard.co.nz/
Karaka Point Vineyard & Lodge is located on the Karaka Peninsula, Southwest of Auckland, New Zealand. The unique location was chosen by the Martin family for its gentle maritime climate and free draining soils of the region.

Established in 1994 by the late Mik Martin, wife Anne and their three daughters, the Martin family continues to produce award winning wines of unique character and fine quality reflecting the loving nurturing of the vines from budburst to harvest. Set in the family's beautiful estate gardens the vineyard provides for a wonderful experience for wine and garden lovers alike.

The style of winemaking using traditions both old and new that Mik so loved is carried on through the skill of winemaker Anthony Ivecivich at Westbrook Winery. Our fine wines of characteristic style reflect the loving hand tending of the vines to extract the finest grapes with which to create our fruit driven Chardonnays and French Bordeaux style Reds that were the inspiration for our style, uniquely 'Karaka Point Vineyard'

Agavé restaurant
http://www.castaways.co.nz/agave.html
Located high on the cliffs on the dramatic West Coast, directly overlooking the black sands of Karioitahi Beach and the Tasman Sea, stunning, panoramic views provide the backdrop to Agavé’s progressive menu.

Situated on the site of Castaways, Agavé is a 50 minute drive from central Auckland and 40 minutes from Auckland International Airport. Named after the Agavé plant which grows at the front of the restaurant and along the West Coast of the North Island, Agavé is a derivative of tequila and also a nectar which can be used as a substitute for honey.

Agavé is headed up by local girls, sisters Jo Horgan and Kylie Wissel, who ran and owned the renowned Sorelle restaurant in Waiuku. Both Jo and Kylie have travelled extensively through Europe and Asia and bring a fusion of the cultures they have encountered to the style of cuisine.

Agavé Signature dishes on the menu, which showcase the best produce that the region has to offer include a starter of ‘Manuka-smoked New Zealand green-lipped mussels, coconut calamari and lime & tequila marinated raw fish’, main courses of ’Venison with a tequila salt rub’ and ’Chargrilled poussin with pasta, pinenuts and spinach served on a sunflower and parmesan wafer with a balsamic, agavé reduction’, and a dessert of ,’Agavé lemon and lime pie with tequila mint syrup and citrus salad’. The mussels smoked in-house and the venison and poussin sourced from Eastherbrook Farm in Bombay.

Agavé restaurant have been awarded the 2007 New Zealand Beef and Lamb Hallmark of Excellence which recognizes quality in preparation and presentation of main course beef and lamb dishes.

The Hallmark is designed to acknowledge a consistently high stand of beef and lamb cuisine awarded on the basis of dishes being tasty, skillfully composed and superbly presented. Agavé received the award for “Aromatic lamb rump with smashed white beans, saffron lemon oil, and tomato and cardamom compote and coriander mint cream”. Assessors noted the “Fillet of beef with horopito béarnaise, pinot noir sautéed onions, served potato cake and wilted rocket” as “perfectly cooked, rested and tender, and nicely complemented by skilful execution of the accompaniments”.

The wine list consists of a selection of New Zealand wines including Awhitu Wines, Karaka Point Vineyard and Waiuku River Wines; ‘boutique’ wines such as Brunton Road from the Gisborne & Julicher Estate in Wairarapa and widely recognized wines such as Grove Mill from Marlborough and Rimu Grove from Nelson.

Awhitu Wines
http://www.awhituwines.co.nz/
31 Greenock Drive, Grahams Beach, Awhitu
In the days Greenock the town that never was!

When Greenock was first surveyed on the Awhitu Peninsula in the late 1800's the settlers would not have pictured the local soil and meso climate to be suited to viticulture 120 years later.

Five years ago we certainly had no idea we would be growing grapes and becoming the proud producers of classical Greenock Syrah and Chardonnay wines. Life is full of pleasant surprises and we invite you to order now and share the pleasures to be found in our first public vintage.

Our 2001 Greenock Syrah was aged in a selection of new and aged oak for 15 months and has now settled very well since bottling in July 2002. Winemaker Shayne Cox, who has gone to Southern Italy this year after 6 seasons in France, says the Syrah will cellar very well for up to 6 years, if you have any left by then.

Firstland Cellar Door
http://www.firstland.co.nz/index.asp?pageID=2145846629
Phone (09) 295 2422
In the late 1990's the Firstland brand was born with its first vintage being 1998. Firstland is a premium wine from the best wine growing regions of NZ. These wines have many different layers of complexity and are designed to age. We select the best fruit from the best sites available and it is given the 'kid glove' treatment. Firstland is testament to the old adage that great wines are made in the vineyards. The de Redcliffe label was slowly retired over the next couple of years.

The Firstland logo speaks of these values - the fern represents the respect for the land from which the harvest comes; and the oar embodies our lands history of discovery - by New Zealand pioneers.

Leeward Landing is a safe haven often found among the Marlborough Sounds where most of our wines are grown and made. Named for it's close access to one of the south islands most beautiful settings, Leeward Landing wines are of a quality shared by only a few. A complimenting brand to our Firstland Vineyards wine, Leeward Landing offers the same exciting bouquets, taste profiles and flavours enjoyed by many for years.

Rongopai Wines
http://www.rongopaiwines.co.nz/
55 Te Kauwhata Rd, Te Kauwhata
The Rongopai story is one of passion, innovation and excellence. It is a story that reflects the vibrant colours of the New Zealand landscape, a story that is enhanced by a flavoursome past.

The brand proudly displays our Koru, which is often used in Maori art as a symbol of creation. This is based on the shape of an unfurling fern frond. Its circular shape conveys the idea of perpetual movement, and its inward coil suggests a return to the point of origin. The Koru therefore symbolises the way in which life both changes and stays the same.

Rongopai holds the unique position of being one of the oldest wine brands in New Zealand. The name itself was introduced in 1932 and since then the name - a Maori word meaning "good taste & good feeling" has also become synonymous with quality.
